The RVICS Have Arrived

Our current assignment is at a 79 year old Christian mission in Summerfield, Florida.  We’re on 17 acres of land where there are several buildings including a 22 room guest house.  Some of the older buildings on the propery are in disrepair but, never fear, the RVICS are here.  Who are the RVICS?  They are a mission of Roving Volunteers in Christ’s service.  They are retired Christian couples living in vehicles (primarily RVs) who serve the Lord through an organized work ministry. They are a maintenance and service ministry, but they also do small construction projects.  They serve only non-profit, fundamental Christian colleges, schools, camps, conference centers, etc. and there are no labor charges for their services.  To date, the organization has completed over 2,477 projects since 1976.

We met Henry and Phyllis at EBM International in Central Florida.  Henry is a machinist and carpenter.  Phyllis is his right hand woman.  At the present time, they are the first RVICS to arrive here, but there are more on the way.  Meanwhile, these two got started repairing the porch area of one of the small buildings on the property.  I caught them in the act of service on a cool day in Florida.  They are a very nice couple and we all serve God, His missions and ministries together.  We’re all staying on the campground together during our assignments.  It’s one big happy family….and the weather is great!

Visit their web site for more information.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.  Ephesians 2:10

The left side is been repaired by the RVICS. It looks great
